Anantha Lake Temple or Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple is located 30 Km from Bekal in Kasaragod district and built in 9th century. This is the only lake temple in Kerala State. This is the moolasthana of Anantha Padmanabha of Thiruvananthapuram. An interesting fact about this temple is a crocodile guards this temple and and the priest feeds it with the temple prasada. This divine vegetarian crocodile named “Babiya” is living in the pond. Devotees are free to enter inside Ananthapura Lake Temple Kasaragod and darshan is completely free to everyone.The temple which is in Kerala style architecture, is maintained well. The Ananthapura Lake Temple is about 5 Kms from kumbla,the nearest railway station.Buses don’t ply till the temple so devotees can get down at naikaup, and get a rickshaw to the temple. 1) Entry to temple is restricted during their Ame, Sootaka

2) Devotees who are wearing dark lungis are not allowed to temple

3) Devotees should remove their Shirt & Baniyan while taking the darshana.
